  • Lawmakers Join Effort to Legalize Cell Phone Unlocking After yesterday's White House statement in support of lifting restrictions on unlocked cell phones, Senator Ron Wyden (D-Ore) introduced a bill called the Wireless Device Independence Act drafted to address this very issue. The FCC has also stated that "it is examining the issue and would endorse a legislative fix." Progress! [CNET]
  • Mobile App Updates: Enhancements to Search, Web Browsing and More Twitter has updated its search function on its mobile site along with the iOS/Android apps. Now search results will include a Top Tweet best matching your query along with the listings you'd normally get. Twitter's iOS apps have also been updated to improve autocomplete and add a feature to its built-in browser that will display the tweet that sent you to a page while viewing it. [Twitter]
  • Office 2013 Now Transferable In response to user feedback, Microsoft has updated the Office 2013 software license agreement that allows you to transfer the software to another computer. Under the new terms, after you transfer the software to another computer you own, that computer becomes the licensed computer and the software is removed from the old one. You can also transfer the software to someone else's computer if you are the first licensed user. The new agreement only allows this to be done once every 90 days, with the exception of hardware failure. [Office News]
