The Bible says in Proverbs 15:13a, ?A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance (face).?
There are things that we as parents MUST do to encourage a merry and joyful spirit in our home. Along with ourselves, our children have got to learn to let the Lord cultivate a merry spirit within them, no matter the circumstances. It is not only important for the success of their own individual life, but also a wonderful testimony to those around them.
Keith (Allen) came up with something fun and maybe a little silly, but who says God doesn?t like having fun or seeing His children do the same.
Today we will call each other by their middle name. Quite a task for this family of 10, but we will try to have fun with it as much as possible! Allen, Amy, Suzanne, Gail, Nichole, Elizabeth, Spencer, Nicholas, Grace, and Anne. Whew!
What is something quirky that you and your family could do to encourage all of them to lighten up a little and have some fun while making memories at the same time? We will give you just a few ideas that we came up with at the breakfast table this morning.

- Eat with the opposite hand all day.
- Come to every meal dressed up.
- No School Day! (kids idea)
- Wear same color shirt Day
- Clean house together and make it an Olympic event!
(Award Gold, Silver, and Bronze for individuals and team)
- Boys and Girls switch chore Day
- Step Back in Time Day (all modern conveniences and technology cannot be used)
- Sing Christmas Carols any time of the year Day
- Look at Old Photo Albums Night
